FRIENDS fans have admitted they were distracted during The Reunion Special thanks to Matthew Perry's bright white teeth.

The 51-year-old actor, who played Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom, sat alongside his five co-stars in the one-off show, but had fans preoccupied by his pearly gnashers.

Sat with Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer, actor Matthew discussed his time on the show.

Hosted by James Corden, the cast reenacted memorable scenes from the series as they visited the set for the first time since the show ended in 2004.

Despite some important moments, such as Jennifer crying over their emotional reunion and David admitting he had a crush on her, something else stole the limelight.

Fans took to Twitter in the droves to comment on Matthew's teeth as they were shocked by how white they appeared on camera.

One woman kicked off the discussion, writing: "I'm also massively thrown by Matthew Perry's teeth #FriendsReunion."

Another agreed alongside laughing emojis: "I’ll be honest. I’m struggling to get past Matthew Perry’s teeth #FriendsReunion."

"Is it me or are Matthew Perry’s teeth impossibly white on the Friends Reunion?" a third asked as they too were distracted.

Others joked that Matthew was "re-enacting" iconic series six episode The One With Ross's Teeth with his early whites.

"Matthew Perry seems to be re-enacting The One With Ross's Teeth from season 6. #FriendsReunion," one remarked.

While someone else said: "Matthew Perry’s teeth in this Friends Reunion show reminds me of that episode where Ross had brilliant white teeth that glowed in the dark."

It was recently confirmed that Matthew had undergone dental work that affected his speech after fans were concerned he sounded slurred.

The "slurred" speech in the Friends reunion promo video was due to an emergency dental procedure not a drugs relapse, a source has claimed.

A source told The Sun: "Matthew turned up to the reunion and members of his team said that he had an emergency tooth procedure that day.

"That was said to impact his wellbeing and also how he was feeling. He had been in pain from what we understand, which caused the slurred speech.

"Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened. The feeling was one of huge sympathy for Matthew especially in recent days given how people have reacted online.

"Matthew has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry."

Matthew has struggled with addiction since his early 20s - after joining smash hit show Friends as Chandler Bing in 1994.

He once even admitted to "not remembering three years" of filming due to his reliance on drugs and alcohol.

The TV star had his first stint in rehab in 1997, though he has returned to facilities several times over the past two decades.

Matthew's alcohol addiction has caused him many health issues throughout the years, including pancreatitis and gastrointestinal perforation.

He told the Friends reunion special that he 'felt like he would die' with 'sweating and convulsions' on the Friends set amid his struggles.

Desperately wanting to make audiences laugh, he explained that he had an "unhealthy" reaction if he didn't "get a laugh" when reciting his lines.

"To me, I felt like I was going to die if they didn't laugh, and it's not healthy, for sure," he told his fellow cast members.

"I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn't laugh and I would sweat and go into like convulsions, if I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get."

The Reunion show also revealed how Matthew had originally been contracted to another sitcom when the Friends pilot was made, and so the creators were worried about whether they would be able to secure him as Chandler for the series.
